It’s raining, and it’s quiet and that makes it a pretty good day to do….well, not much!
RAIN. QUIET. AAHHHH!
It’s raining. Has been since the wee hours. I was up late binge-watching Ken Burns’ American Revolution. Thinking about how cool it really is to live in Chester County PA which is home to both Valley Forge and the Brandywine Battlefield and all the area around both where redcoats and rebels marched, fought, bled, died.
Rain this morning meant the work crews that have become a constant presence out in the apartment courtyard are snugged up at home. That means it is quiet today. Just rain falling and dripping. No saws. No hammers. No shouts and small talk just outside the patio door.

I am behaving appropriately. My internal alarm clock woke me at 6:30, not caring that I did not tumble into bed until 1:30 a.m. It said “get up” so I did. Coffee didn’t help much. I wandered down to the common area and chatted a bit with the morning coffee crowd. When I got back to my unit I took advantage of the rain and quiet and went back to bed.
I don’t know what I am going to do with the rest of the day. I could write, but I don’t have much energy. I wonder if I am really a writer? All the books on writing say if you are a true writer you will not be able to stay away from it, that you will always find your way to pen and paper, or computer keyboard.
I write in my head but for some reason these days I seldom sit down and commit it to keyboard. From time to time I do one of these little posts. So, I guess I am not a writer by most definitions and I am OK with that at this point in life.
I think I will read a bit in a book. I may do a crossword. I may go back and crawl in bed again and listen to the rain.
Dunno. All I know is it is raining and it is quiet and that is enough to make it a good day.
